Kim Gevaert Biography
Kim Gevaert (* August 5, 1978 in Leuven) is a Belgian woman Sprint and current European champion in the 100 - and 200-meter run.
In Munich in the European Championships in 2002 she won both over 100 and about 200 metres silver medal. In athletics indoor European Championships in 2002, in 60-meter run-won - a success that in 2005 and 2007 could be repeated.
At the World Cup 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, she was with the Belgian 4x100-meter relay sixth in the finale.
In 2004 she won the World Indoor Championships in Budapest the silver medal over 60 metres in Belgian record time of 7.12 s. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, she reached over 100 m semi-finals and resigned as the third European. About 200 meters, she was second in as the Sixth European finals.
At the World Cup 2005 in Helsinki she came back over 200 metres to the finals and was seventh.
At the World Indoor Championships in Moscow in 2006 she won bronze in the 60-meter run. The Athletics European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 gained her biggest success: As Topfavoritin started, it was over 100 metres in a time of 11.06 seconds Europe champion. Also about 200 metres she won the gold medal in a time of 22.68 seconds.
In the athletics World Cup 2007 in Osaka, she won with the Belgian 4x100 metres relay bronze.
2008 she won at the Olympic Games in Beijing with the Belgian 4x100m relay silver medal.
Kim Gevaert is 1.70 m tall and weighs 59 kg. She holds a degree in speech at the Catholic University of Leuven. Her life companion is the former three-Springer Djeke Mambo.
