Tim Burton Biography

Timothy \"Tim\" Walter Burton (born August 25, 1958 in Burbank, California) is an American writer, producer and film director.

Life

Tim Burton as a child developed a talent for drawing. His first film, The Iceland of Doctor Agor, he turned in 1971 with 13 years. With a grant from the Disney Studios, he studied for three years animation art at the California Institute of the Arts and was then hired at Disney. Tim Burton previously worked as a draftsman, but still of intermediate phases during the 1978 fantasy cartoon published The Lord of the Rings. There he worked with others in the films as well as Fox and the Hound The Black Cauldron and Tron. In 1982, he turned as a writer and director in order Disney\'s first successful and award-winning short film Vincent.

His first feature film is 1985, the film Pee Wee\'s Big Adventure. With the film Beetle Juice 1988, he managed a breakthrough. Since then, he is one of the successful directors and producers in Hollywood.

In 1985 he met the film composer Danny Elfman. Their first film together is Pee Wee\'s Big Adventure. From this acquaintance developed into a friendship that still continues today, Elfman worked in all other Burton films, with the exception of Ed Wood and the already-composed with a Broadway musical Sweeney Todd, as a composer.

Private Life

From 1989 to 1991 Burton was married to the German artist Lena Gieseke. During the filming of Planet of the Apes (2001) Burton met Helena Bonham Carter, the British actress with whom he is now dating and has two children together. Johnny Depp and long time friend of Tim Burton, is the godfather of the children.
